Our mission
At Aspen & Birch, our mission is to create art that will stand the test of time, and to generate joy while doing so.
We believe that photography and videography are art processes designed to show the best parts of you. Our goal with photo and video is to embrace and showcase the natural beauty of others. We are confident in posing all body types and cultivating an environment where people look and feel their best. One of the biggest things that we love about this job is having the privilege to be the people who make others feel beautiful on camera during one of the most impactful days of their lifes.
We also believe in creating art that will stand the test of time. To achieve this, we intentionally use a mix of candid and structured posing, and edit in true-tone colors. We want people to be able to look at your wedding photos and film in 50 years and be gobsmacked by the art instead of noticing the era it was created in.
Giving back is central to our business.
Over my career, I have been incredibly blessed by several individuals and organizations.
I intentionally work to give back to the community by photographing non-profit events for free, teaching high school internships, and trying to bless as many people as I can along the way.

Choosing the right photographer and videographer is a complicated process.
There are so many of us out there! Figuring out the important things to look for can be tough.
The top things that I recommend looking for are someone who has a style you like, someone who has consistent, high-quality work, and someone you will be comfortable working with.
Our goal as a wedding media team is to meet these criteria. We always give 100% to create pictures and films that you will love for years to come, and we understand the responsibility of capturing these memories.

Our story
Kate’s love for photos started early.
Growing up, my mom was an art teacher, and I had the privilege of learning almost every major art form from her.
Photography fascinated me. I loved how there was always something new and interesting that I could learn, and how my photos were able to bring people so much joy.
In 2019, Kate started Aspen & Birch while attending college. She began by learning portraiture, and then moved on to weddings.
Her educational background is in business a project management. She has worked in manufacturing and government project management, and is currently working as an office manager at a local non-profit that specializes in financial literacy and food security.
Kate continues to photograph weddings alongside her corporate work because of her love for the art. She has now been a professional photographer for over five years, and has had the honor of documenting over 100 love stories.
Kacie joined the team in 2024, to help us better serve our clients and reach new growth as a business. She was an A&B client before she joined our team, and has a passion for analytics, marketing, and each client’s experience.
Travis joined the team in 2025, after he and Kate had worked many weddings alongside each other. He brings a wealth of knowledge with his background in commercial and wedding cinema. He has a passion for artistry, and is excited to walk alongside each A&B client as we document your story.
