I’m Kate.
Welcome! Around here, we see photography and videography as an art form. From my big wedding days, to capturing portraits that help someone feel beautiful on camera for the first time, attention to detail is at the core of what I do.
My goal as a Portland wedding photographer is to make you feel beautiful, to capture memories as lasting art, and to help you fall in love with your photos & wedding film.
When I founded Aspen & Birch back in 2019, it was always my goal to create a space where documenting memories became an experience that was stress-free and created results that FEEL like you, and can be looked back on for years to come.

Kate has spent the past 5+ years honing her craft as a Portland Wedding Photographer. She has documented over 100 love stories, and finds great joy in helping her clients feel beautiful on camera and documenting memories that will last a lifetime. Her goal is to create lasting art by documenting memories in an authentic manner.

Travis
Travis has been in the video space for years, and is here to document the milestone of marriage for each Aspen & Birch client. Part of the team since 2025, Travis creates wedding films that preserve your wedding day as cinematic artistry.

Weddings pass so quickly. It’s easy for all of the little moments to blur together and the memories to blur. This photo, was a quick snapshot before the ceremony, but now that memory of mom, dad, grandma, and close friends quietly waiting before the this couple walked down the aisle, is documented forever.

Our photographer was an absolute dream to work with, she helped wrangle family and managed to get all the group shots I wanted even though I was wholly unprepared and had no list! It was easy to have her with us while getting ready and she was an overall delight.

We are considering an elopement, micro-wedding, or courthouse ceremony. Do you offer coverage for smaller weddings?
Yes! We absolutely love elopements and micro-weddings. It’s so special to just have a handful of people present on wedding day, and to be able to focus on those close relationships and you as a couple. Please reach out!

How do we book you for our wedding date?
The best place to start is by filling out our contact form. Immediately after filling it out, you’ll receive an auto-reply email with our full package list and investment breakdown. Within 48 hours, we will get back to you with our availability for your wedding date. After an initial call or coffee chat to discuss your wedding photo + video goals, we will send a contract your way. Once signed, your wedding date is locked in!

Do you offer engagement or pre-wedding photo sessions?
Yes and yes! Our full day wedding packages include credit to cover an engagement session, bridal session (couple in wedding outfits on a day other than wedding OR bride in her dress for a solo portrait session), or it can be applied to a second photographer/videographer on wedding day. We believe in creating photo/video packages that are tailored to you and your wedding!

Our families have some big personalities. How will you navigate that on wedding day?
Communication is key! If we know ahead of time about big personalities, we can help step in to direct and prevent situations on wedding day. Little things like not having Uncle Bob and Aunt Linda stand together during family photos can make a world of difference!

Do you travel for destination weddings and elopements?
Yes– We are based in Portland, Oregon, and include 2 hours (one-way) of travel in our wedding and elopement packages. Depending on date availability, we can totally travel farther than the Portland-metro area. 🙂 If your wedding is going to take place outside of the Pacific Northwest, please reach out early so that we can coordinate travel plans and additional pieces as needed.

How long will it take to receive our photos and wedding film after the event?
You will receive a sneak peek gallery (typically 150-200 photo from throughout the day) and a 1-minute teaser film within two weeks of wedding day. The full gallery and film will be delivered within 3 months of the wedding.
